How to Unblock My FNB Card

It’s a feeling many of us know all too well. You’re at the till, ready to pay, and your card gets declined. A quick check on your banking app reveals those dreaded words: "Card Blocked." It’s frustrating, but don’t worry, unblocking your FNB card is actually quite simple and can be done in just a few minutes.

The quickest and easiest way to unblock your FNB card is by using the FNB banking app on your smartphone. This method is secure and instantly gives you access to your funds again.

How to Unblock Your FNB Card Using the App

Here is a simple, step-by-step guide to get your card working again:

1. Log in to the FNB App: Open your FNB banking app and log in using your password, fingerprint, or Face ID.

2. Navigate to "Cards": Once you're logged in, look for the "Cards" option on the home screen and tap on it.

3. Select Your Card: You will see a list of your cards. Tap on the card that you need to unblock.

4. Find the "Block/Unblock" Option: Look for an option that says "Block/Unblock Card" or something similar. It's usually very easy to spot.

5. Unblock Your Card: Tap on the option to unblock your card. The app might ask you to confirm your choice.

And that's it! Your card should be unblocked and ready to use immediately. I remember a time I was out for dinner with friends and my card was blocked. I had a mini-panic, but luckily, I just followed these steps on my phone and it was sorted out in less than a minute. It was a huge relief!

If for some reason you can’t use the app, you can also call FNB’s customer service line. They will be able to help you unblock your card over the phone, but you will need to answer some security questions to verify your identity.

I once had to call them because my phone had died and I couldn't access the app. The call was quick and the agent was very helpful. It's good to know there's a backup option.

It's always a good idea to keep a little bit of emergency cash on you, just in case something like this happens. Or, you could do what I do and earn some extra cash by completing surveys and playing games on the Points Castle app. You can redeem your points for vouchers for things like airtime and other essentials.
